I have rereleased the video If U Luv Me Google Me on YouTube. Originally released in late 2009, but I thought it was time to bring it up to the front one last time. I’m currently making a remix to the song via request from some of my fans. Enjoy the video below and I’ve also attached the lyrics.

I’m in love with the little bit of preview Gaga gave us today! I’m so fucking excited for this record and especially this song! So excited that I made 2 single covers for my own love! Check them out! Viva Gaga!

This was my first version.

But then the cover grew into this commentary on the government. Love both!

“Put your hands on me, John F. Kennedy. I’ll make you squeal baby.” AHHH! So excited that I’ve watched that runway video 39 times, um, no lie!

Thanks for reading!

A lot has happened this year and I’d like to make this my first year in review: a look back on my personal life from 2010.

ANDY WARHOL
2010 started with a wonderful trip to Milwaukee where I got to see some of Andy Warhol’s paintings at the Milwaukee Art Museum. That was very much a high light of my year just because Andy is one of my heroes. Later in the year I began to dabble in silk screen printing and now have completed several acrylic paintings. Looking forward to much more of that side of me next year.

LADY GAGA
In the beginning of the year I was super depressed because Lady Gaga had all sold out concerts in my area. Then Gaga had some rescheduling conflicts for her Chicago shows and the tickets went on resale. Unfortunately I was unable to get any tickets for those shows. But lucky for me she decided to do a 2nd leg of the tour and my wish came true. So I purchased four tickets to the Milwaukee, WI show and the rest is history. Going to that concert was unlike any concert I ever experienced. I will never be the same and I have Lady Gaga to thank. Can’t wait for her new album Born This Way in the new year!

THE WEDDING
There have been many ups and downs in my life but this moment was a beautiful day. Everything about this day was magical and just the way it should have been. Glad that Danny and I got to share our special day with so many wonderful people. I’ve been with Danny seven years now and every day is a little different. We have our ups and downs but I always feel safe and I always feel loved no matter what. Biggest high light of the year!

ACID REFLUX AND OTHER FUN ISSUES
Health was definitely in the main front of my mind this year. From the health care bill getting passed to discovering new problems in my own health. Learning that I could no longer eat the same amounts of food and having to cut back on other things really forced me to look at my eating habits. Finding out that I have acid reflux wasn’t terrible. It was refreshing to know the reason why I was wheezing at night was acid reflux. So you take a pill or just don’t have that spicy burrito and then: all is good.

Eye related issues and unknown skin allergies? Still not really certain where these things come from. I have this gooey discharge coming out of my eyes: white and stringy like snot or mucous. My eye doctor says it’s white blood cell discharge and we assume it’s an allergy towards something in my house or my cat. Nothing $100 allergy eye drops can’t stop. Went through changing contacts and not wearing them for months only to find out the junk was still there. Directly or indirectly I also have sensitive skin around the eyes where my eye lids get super red and then eventually flake. Nothing a little Cortizone 10 can’t stop, I’d hate to see me in 10 years. We’ll be watching that very closely for sure.

ARTWORK OF ALL KINDS
In January I started by creating these digital illustrations of celebrities and friends and then I got really involved in it. I did not do as much video, photography, or composition of music this year. But I really got in touch with a side of me that for a long time I believed I had no business in. Growing up several art teachers had taught me that I wasn’t worth teaching because they didn’t think I had the talent. To be fair to my art teachers I was in a different place in grade school and maybe it’s best that I didn’t blossom until now. I have my new house to thank for allowing this world to blossom further into silk screen printing, acrylic painting, and other mediums. I have even sold a few pieces of my artwork on etsy.com and to one lady. Still hoping to have some sort of gallery in October 2011.

My favorite silk screen I've done, thus far.

OUR FIRST HOME
For Danny and I this was a very important step in our lives. We had the go ahead from our financial advisers to go ahead and start looking. Well, we found one in a very short period of time. We have been living there since April and it has been a great joy owning a home. Of course we’ve done a lot to it ourselves to make it ours but that’s what owning a home is all about.

2 CARS ENTER AND NO CAR LEAVES
I had my 1989 Bonneville for 6 years when it decided to kill itself. We got me a new car, a 2001 Chevy Impala. And with the Impala that I had my first major accident. Failure to stop at an intersection. Terrible day for me that I do not want to relive. What I’m still grateful for is that all parties are OK. Lucky for me insurance bought me another car, a less sporty, and more reliable car: an Oldsmobile. Been driving very safe and even more attentive since then.

BETTY WHITE EVERYWHERE and MS. RUE
I have this ability to feel closer to a celebrity and with the Golden Girls I’ve always been so in love with them all. Betty White got a lot of attention this year and that made me very happy like a little kid who gets the toy they want in their happy meal. Sadly it was also a fateful year for Betty to be the last one standing. Ms. Rue passed away and I was so sad about it. I’m so happy to know she and all the girls will live on in film forever. Betty, I love you and to the other girls, I love you too. Many life lessons were taught to me at 10:30 pm growing up watching the Golden Girls and Designing Women before bed. Good shows!

No one ever makes me laugh like the girls!

Now that it’s the end of the year and I must make the list of New Year’s Resolutions. Last year I made goals that were somewhat easy and hard to accomplish. One goal for certain I accomplished: Having 100 videos on my YouTube channel!

BEST MOVIE: INCEPTION.

As you know I’m a huge Lady Gaga fan and I’d say that’s an understatement. Last Thursday, September 2, 2010 I attended the concert that will change lives. In retrospect my soul has been waiting for an event like this my whole life. A place where you can go and be free and be whoever you want to be. You can be yourself and ain’t nobody gonna tell you otherwise. Like a good little monster I had seen most of the concert online via low res YouTube clips, but those clips can’t express the amount of emotion, talent, and goodwill Gaga gives back to you in that concert hall.

The day started with my friends Jamie and Kristi and my sister Jackie driving down to Milwaukee. We left about 2:30 pm to embark on our adventure to The Monster Ball. We arrived at my sister Brigette’s apartment went to grab some yummy Jimmy John’s and then came back to get ready. I had downloaded a tutorial video off of YouTube onto my phone so that I could do my make up beautifully. The girls were in various places of the apartment also getting ready and just getting all pumped up for an awesome night. Jackie got makeup done by Brigette and I needed some assistance from Kristi for my super long eyelashes (last worn during my Lady Gaga Masquerade Bday Bash). Around 6 pm we were all ready to go to the Bradley Center and we took a fun cab ride to get there!

Look how excited everyone is! :)

Yay! We're here!

When we arrived at the Bradley Center it was everything a little monster dreams about: a place to be a freak and have a good time. The costumes were so beautiful and you just wanted to go up to every person and congratulate them on their excellence. I went up to a few fellow monsters to tell them I loved their outfits. One guy was wearing the most amazing shoes ever and I know he must have been in pain by the end of the night! Kudos to you fellow monster brother! We got our picture taken next to the GAGA bus and sort of just did our thing getting all excited waiting outside to get in!

Such a brave boy!

Around 7 they let the people who didn’t have general admission ticket in the door. On our way up Virgin Mobile was doing a photo shoot of all little monsters of ages 18 years old and up. Jackie was sweet and waited with us as we went in line to get our photos taken professionally by this glamorous woman! You could see she was a very exciting and hyper lady ready to take your picture and make you look beautiful in your own way. I saw Kristi get her picture taken first and she was super stoked! Then Jamie was up, a little nervous, but she was also super cute in her little get up and she did great. Then the lady was like, “Hello! Joey! Are you ready?” And as a monster I instinctively said, “Rar,” and put my paws up at her! She was all like, “Yes. That’s amazing.” We took a couple of pictures and then she ran over to the girls at the computer and said, “That one!” Little did I know 24 hours after The Monster Ball I ended up here LadyVirgin.com in 9/02 Milwaukee Featured Monster Section! So cool!

Look I got featured! HA!

We got up to our section 421 and bought some sodas and started to get ready for the opening act Semi Precious Weapons. While we were waiting for the opening act they were playing some good music and I may or may not be up on YouTube via a strangers camera. Kristi and I were getting our freak on to Ludacris and I believe I made one of the lady ushers night. If you go to Gaga you gotta shake your ass and be a free bitch, baby! As the clock approached closer to 8:00 pm I was getting excited to see Semi Precious Weapons, I’ve been playing their cd in my garage for almost a month now and I think they are amazing!

As per instructed on Semi Precious Weapons website I printed out the cut out of Justin, the lead singer, and I held his face proud during their sexy 45 minutes on stage. I love glam and I love rock! They were such a bunch of free crazy bisexual hotties! Owwa! When Justin began to chant, “LADY GAGA! LADY GAGA! LADY GAGA!” I got super excited for the moment was almost here: Lady Gaga and me. Of course I wasn’t the only one at the concert but the intimate relationship she shares with her fans it feels like a real loving relationship between two close friends. She knows this and we know this, we are all family in a world where we are made to believe that being different is slutty, inappropriate, and wrong in God’s eyes. You do not have to conform to society’s idea of what is normal!

The stage got dark, the scrim came down, and the projector started to project images of the monster that is Lady Gaga. My heart started to thump in time with the beat, knowing that she opens with Dance In The Dark, my favorite song, I begin to tear up. When the projection leaves and under the scrim is Lady Gaga, I am in heaven. I am where I belong with my musical best friend. She begins to sing and I just lose it, more tears for one of the happiest moments of my life. All you can see is her beautiful shadow as she sings and dances in the dark. The imagery and lyrics to this song create a place for me and all the loved ones I’ve ever lost, we are together and we dance in the dark. I haven’t been this moved since I saw my first gospel choir in a Black Baptist Church, the spirit is alive in Gaga!

A beautiful loving person: Lady Gaga!

After that song you get to see Gaga in the flesh doing what she does best: singing live, dancing, and putting on a good show. I’m proud to know that I have exposed my sister Jackie to a true artist, a genuine loving caring, individual who made Jackie’s first concert epic.

Later during the concert Gaga started to speak telling you things that you long to hear from your wayward parents or friends, something usually coming from a motivational speaker, but with Gaga it’s all real and honest, no bullshit. She tells us you can be whoever you wanna be and she tells us that she was a freak in high school and that she never fit in. Again I cry because it’s like hearing these things for the first time again: I did not fit in, I was a freak, and I’m gay. She expressed her opinions about being gay and how it’s okay and I just felt like a million bucks. No one woman can make you feel like this other than your mother, just an amazing concert.

Gaga singing Paparazzi and facing her fear: the angler fish.

When the concert was over Kristi and I went to the meet and greet with Semi Precious Weapons where we got autographs on Justin’s cut out head and the CD. We also got our picture taken with them, it turned out blurry, but who cares. I met one of Gaga’s dearest friends and the lead singer messed up my hair, just awesome! I left the Bradley Center a new man who had barely a voice from screaming for Lady Gaga harder than any roller coaster ride or injury in my life. We drove home that night happy, changed monsters.

The following day at work, as I was opening the store, the concert was still brewing in my mind and I broke down crying. I was crying because I’ve never felt so free in all my life. I’ve never felt this way and will never feel this way again. Some may call this brainwashing or something, I’d like to say it was genuine inspiration for a better life and a better world. We need less hate and more love like Lady Gaga. To those of you who say she is not a relevant pop culture figure, you have not experienced The Monster Ball. This is a woman who writes her own songs, sings live, and plays a plethora of instruments. Lady Gaga is a genuine artist who is possibly one of the most loving creatures on this Earth. Needless to say I’ll never be the same after The Monster Ball.

Thank you Lady Gaga for all that you do for us!

Love,
Joey Monster

So happy I could die!

It’s been a year since I found a way to submit my song If U Luv Me (Google Me) on iTunes. It was fairly simple to do, but selling it, has been a task in itself. Let’s just say it’s not a popular song on the radio and wasn’t written for that intention. Why was it written? Self love, self promotion, and to satire pop culture and the Gossip Queen himself Perez Hilton. It’s had some laughs and it’s had it’s criticisms, but all in all, it’s just a fun silly song.

When I started this blog last year I was determined to “dethrone” and conquer Perez Hilton’s spot in Pop culture because I was jealous. To be honest, I don’t want his job and I don’t want to spout like opinions and then get myself in trouble with The Black Eyed Peas. I am about drama, but I’m not about being the one to cause the drama. I do not renounce my opinion that I think Perez was in the wrong for calling will.i.am gay. That whole Toronto club situation and the way all parties handled it was wrong. But I’m over it.

What does that mean for Google Me? Nothing, really. I still feel strongly that it is a fun song, is it a hit sensation? No, and it never has to be because I made it for me. I think it’s funny and absurd and weird and it holds a special place in my heart. Above all I love the music video. As of today it’s been viewed 26,000 times and that’s an accomplishment for a non-celebrity status, but seriously make me famous! LOL!

With that being said, “Happy Birthday ‘Google Me’!”

Have you been reading Entertainment Weekly’s articles lately? They have become more about gossip than about actual reviews on music, movies, etc. I have posted my own comments on individual articles but it has come to my attention that this magazine has turned into garbage. But I suppose Hollywood will do that to you. Now of course this is not just about Entertainment Weekly, this is about these little stories about Gaga isn’t original or Christina is copying Lady Gaga and so on.

M.I.A. vs. Gaga.

MIA

This is a bunch of bull because the two artists have nothing in common musically and yet M.I.A. is calling Lady Gaga a mimic of Madonna, Grace Jones, Bowie, and of herself. Now if you were as old as the Earth, for argument’s sake, you would clearly recognize that there have been dozens of mimics throughout history. Madonna is not the first to do anything, Grace Jones isn’t the first weird performance artist, and so on. The expression is, “it’s all been done.” All songs sound the same, all notes have been played, all stories have been told. What is different and fascinating as we evolve as artists and human beings is the retelling of that same old story and the reinvention of the same song and dance. If you seek originality you are going to have to leave because we are all pretty monotonous on planet Earth. In short M.I.A. there is nothing new about you and your little bubble you live in.

Grace Jones Vs. Lady Gaga

This story annoys me to no end. In essence Grace Jones claims that it “pisses” her off that Lady Gaga is copying her style or whatever. Let me tell you something Grace Jones being weird and artistic has been done over a thousand and one ways. You are no doubt an amazing performance artist, but you and Lady Gaga are two different breeds. Gaga may be inspired by your looks but I know that all of those outfits you’ve worn throughout the years were inspired by someone or something as well. You, Grace Jones, are not original but I appreciate your weirdness because quite frankly you are super creepy and it’s growing on me. See her video:

Christina Aguilera Copies Gaga and Madonna

Who's copying who? I can't tell! SARCASM!

Who's copying who? I can't tell! SARCASM!

Apparently you all have forgotten that Christina Aguilera does not need computers to enhance her voice. She does not need little monsters. And she does not need to be accused of being irrelevant. Her voice will stand the test of time and her vocal ability is much more vast than Lady Gaga’s and Madonna’s combined. The thing that really ticks me off is that if any woman or man wants to be provocative you are instantly compared to Lady Gaga. What the hell? If you read this blog, you know I would die for Gaga, but seriously? The world did exist before Stefani Germanotta found her Gaga. And now that Christina is back she’s accused of being like Lady Gaga. I don’t know if you know this but Gaga and Madonna were not the first women to don a dominatrix’s outfit or the first to experiment with one’s sexuality, again it’s all been done before. Appreciate the voice that is Christina, apparently you forgot that once upon a time she ruled the land. I will not deny that Xtina is paying homage to Madonna’s Express Yourself music video, but again that hair do was worn before Madonna and that style is circa Great Depression, not circa Madonna. Oh and did you know that dominatrix’s have been around for years? Check out a picture from the 1920s, now who is copying who?

For New Years Day my boyfriend and I went to the Milwaukee Art Museum to visit the amazing exhibit they had there: The Andy Warhol Exhibit. I really enjoyed the whole damn thing and I so wanted more, maybe we can get to The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I felt a sense of belonging when I was looking over his artwork. For me the most surprising thing was how large some of the paintings were, some were bigger than my living room. Of course I bought a couple things at the gift shop and I donated money to his art scholarship program.

I finally got a slideshow of my birthday party up for those of you who cannot access my Facebook pictures. So check it below:

Today I held my own personal concert of Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour because for the second time I failed to buy tickets. The first time I missed the opportunity to buy any tickets completely. The second time I had a huge chance which was blown by TicketMaster’s misinformation on their website. Yesterday I was getting ready to buy them and went to check on Monday and found out that they changed the sale date from January 5(today) to January 4(yesterday), heartbroken. Hopefully Lady Gaga puts it out on DVD or does a second leg of the tour so I can get to see her and all that glory!

Here’s to New Year’s Resolutions may someone actually remember their resolution and complete that personal goal!

I want to let everyone know that this weekend I had a blast having a very unique birthday party. I wanted a masquerade birthday, but with the flair of Lady Gaga’s crazy style. So we had what I called: LORD JOEY’S GAGA MASQUERADE BIRTHDAY BASH and it was so fun.

The invitations.

The invitations.

Redesigning my apartment was probably the most fun! I covered the walls in random sayings or lyrics that Lady Gaga sings or says. I did a lot of that “Pop ate my heart” and “Pop ate my brain” stuff from her video shorts that she has used in concerts. Imagine an entire apartment living room covered with Gagaisms. “I want your psycho” covered a lot of one wall. I made these creepy hot pink hearts with ventricles and I even made a paper brain and stuck it to the ceiling. I covered my mirror with a sheet of black lace and painted words on the mirror like “DRAMA” and “VERTIGO” and “ROMANCE”. I will try and take pictures, before my boyfriend has me take it all down.

When people arrived to the masquerade I had a sign that said “Welcome to the Masquerade” and I had bright work lights in front of the door. When you opened the door everyone got blinded by the lights! For the fashion part we had this large 6 foot painting that I threw a white sheet over so we could take pictures in front of a background. We also had a camera setup that stayed in one spot and randomly took pictures throughout the evening.

lady gaga paparazzi monster

Of course I had every Lady Gaga song, some of her unknowns and import singles as well. For every fourth Lady Gaga song played I did throw a couple of other pop songs in, so people wouldn’t be overwhelmed. I also made many weird mini films of my own that played silently on the t.v. along with her music videos and some of her “Pop ate my heart” and “Pop ate my brain” videos and some Andy Warhol videos as well. I really wanted the party to feel like an exhibit, if you will, of Lady Gaga. I made it themed and visually covered my apartment in her world of pop culture, fashion, music, and performance art.

On to costumes. People were so clever with their outfits and masks and makeup and even their facial attachments. I was very impressed and proud of my friends! I’ll be sure to post lots of those pictures as well!

Lady Gaga Birthday Bash

I, myself, wore a collaboration of her looks for the evening. I liked the look of the hair from her Paparazzi video and the lipstick. But I loved her Maison Michel bunny ears so much that I made my own. For the rest of the look I really liked her “Pop ate my heart” video. I wore a black vinyl vest over a black hoodie and when you unzipped my hoodie it revealed that pop, indeed, ate my heart! I switched back and forth from the Mickey Mouse looking sunglasses and the Maison Michel inspired bunny ears throughout the evening.

Lady Gaga Bunny Ears

For one of my presents I received an awesome Marilyn Monroe wig from my friend Kelly, so at one point her and I left the room and switched me out of my wig into the Marilyn. I came back into the room carrying a boom box that played Bad Romance. I swung my disco stick(eBay) and made everyone join in the “fashion train” as I lip synced her song! Then we had my delicious hot pink cake and played some fun games! All in all Lady Gaga really inspired me to have an awesome birthday party!

Tomorrow is my actual birthday and I will be 26! Hope I can manage to be as amazing and famous as Lady Gaga!
